Action Research Plan from Beginning to End

In the realm of education, particularly within the classroom, both teaching methods and the learning environment are in a state of continuous evolution. One of the most recent developments transforming this landscape is the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) and its potential influence on educators’ planning and lesson creation. As part of my action research plan, I focused on investigating how AI can affect the time educators spend on planning as it becomes increasingly integrated into the classroom. To initiate this process, I outlined my proposed action research along with my rationale for exploring this topic.

I outlined my proposed action research plan and method in the blog post above. The action research plan outline I created examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can assist educators in implementing flipped classrooms by reducing lesson preparation time. While the flipped classroom model is effective, it demands significant preparation, posing challenges for both experienced, and novice teachers. I propose action research to assess AI’s impact on teachers’ planning time, aiming to compare time spent on preparation before and after AI implementation, evaluate the quality of AI-assisted lesson plans, and explore how AI integration affects teaching effectiveness and work-life balance. Her research will employ a mixed-method design, collecting quantitative data through surveys and time tracking and qualitative data via interviews and document analysis. Once I had my outline completed it was time to look at the literature surrounding AI in order to update my literature review created for my innovation plan. While the word updated is used, the information did not change only narrowed in scope. The updated Literature review is below.

After conducting a thorough review of the existing literature on the topic, I recognized the importance of developing a comprehensive research plan to investigate how artificial intelligence impacts the planning processes of educators. This plan will involve formulating specific research questions, selecting appropriate methodologies, and identifying the target population of educators.Ultimately, the objective is to gain a deeper understanding of how AI tools and technologies can enhance, transform, or even impede the planning practices of educators within their professional environments. My action research plan is below.
